Tornado Confirmed in Mirabel Area
Severe Weather Warning
Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for the Mirabel area north of Montreal on Thursday.
The warning was issued at approximately 10:30 a.m. EST and is in effect until 11:30 a.m. EST. Environment Canada has confirmed that a tornado has touched down in the area.
Residents are urged to take shelter immediately. If you are in a car, pull over to the side of the road and seek shelter in a sturdy building. If you are in a building, go to the lowest floor and stay away from windows.
The tornado is moving northeast at 60 km/h. It is expected to weaken as it moves through the area, but residents should remain vigilant.
