Premier League Giants Spend Big Again

40m Initial Fee, 25m in Add-Ons

Chelsea have completed the signing of Manchester City winger Cole Palmer for an initial fee of £40 million. The deal could reach £65 million with performance-related add-ons. The 21-year-old has signed a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer, an England Under-21 international, enjoyed a breakthrough season with Manchester City in 2022/23. He scored eight goals and provided seven assists in all competitions, impressing with his pace, dribbling skills, and eye for goal.

Chelsea's spending under new owner Todd Boehly has now surpassed £1 billion. The Blues have already signed several high-profile players this summer, including Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Wesley Fofana.

Palmer's arrival adds further depth and quality to Chelsea's attacking options. He is expected to compete with Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, and Hakim Ziyech for a starting spot in manager Graham Potter's team.
